BEACHES
If you are in love with the sea, the coast of Santa María de Guía also offers places for you to enjoy. Given its rocky nature, two are its main bathing areas: San Felipe beach, where you can enjoy great waves for surfing and bodyboarding; and the natural pools of Roque Prieto, where you can enjoy the sea in a family atmosphere.

San Felipe
This beach of fine black sand and pebbles, 450 metres long and 25 metres wide, surrounded by lava reefs and large cliffs, is a paradise for lovers of surfing and coastal nature.
It is located on the eastern limit of the municipality, where the coast differs from that of the rest of the municipality, abrupt and rocky. It is reached through the San Felipe neighbourhood, which is accessed from the GC-2 highway at the El Pagador junction.
Also known as El Vagabundo in its final stretch, it is one of the best known and most appreciated beaches in the north for its excellent conditions for surfing and bodyboarding. There are many lovers of these sports, amateurs and professionals, locals and foreigners, who enjoy its waves throughout the year.
In addition to surfing and bathing, this coast also offers other uses related to leisure, as it has a wide avenue along which you can enjoy long, peaceful walks along the seashore, and there are also some restaurants and bars nearby. specialised in fish.
Roque Prieto
The natural pools of Roque are one of the most popular bathing areas on the north coast of the island, although they have a quiet and familiar atmosphere. They are located near the La Atalaya neighbourhood, and just 2 kilometres from the historic centre, in an area of high cliffs and volcanic nature.
Built taking advantage of a cove at the mouth of a ravine, its walls and "tubes", as the locals call the cylindrical structures that mark the limits of the pools, act as a barrier against the waves.
Here you can enjoy a family day of rest and enjoyment of the rich and varied coastal nature of this area, while, for example, children discover new animal species and adults relax chatting or fishing.
