Dolores Sosa

In 1927 she founded the school of the Immaculate Conception for the education of girls in Guía.

For this fact she was named Favourite Daughter of the Municipality in 1929, as it is stated in the official letter sent by the Town Council to her, which can be read in the Correspondence Outgoing Book of this Municipal Corporation (Municipal Archives of 1929):

"The Town Council over which I have the honour of presiding, taking into account the meritorious work carried out by V. in favour of education, as demonstrated by the foundation and operation of the magnificent educational establishment created and supported at her expense in this City, agreed by acclamation in the Consistory of the 28th of the current year to name V. a Favourite Daughter of this City. Which I am pleased to inform you of for your knowledge and other purposes"..
